 The Arabian Horse Association of Arizona (AHAA) Amateur Committee, in partnership with Tempe Camera Repair and TCR Photo Imaging Center, is excited to announce the 2025 Annual Digital Photography Contest!

Contest Details
Submission Dates: December 10, 2024 – January 15, 2025
Upload your photos by 11:59 PM MST on January 15, 2025.
Voting Period: January 17, 2025 – January 27, 2025
‍Winner Announcement: Winners will be revealed on the AHAA website and Facebook page by Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
This contest is open to all ages and offers amateur photographers a unique opportunity to share their stunning images of Arabian horses with an international community of equestrian enthusiasts. Celebrate the beauty and personality of the Arabian horse through your photography!

Categories
‍Submit your photographs that capture the essence of the Arabian horse in the following categories:
‍Beautiful Arabian
‍Clowning Around
‍Horse and Buddy
‍That’s My Baby
‍Click on the category name to submit your photo!

‍Submission Rules
‍Photos can be in color or black and white.
Maximum file size: 10 MB.
Each photo must include a caption.
Only amateur photographers may participate (an amateur is someone who has never sold their photographs for profit).
Limit: One submission per person per category.
All entries must be uploaded by January 15, 2025.
Each submission will be reviewed before posting to the contest website.

‍Judging
Public Voting: January 17 –January 27, 2025.
The AHAA Amateur Committee will select one Grand Champion.

‍Awards
Category Winners:
‍Champion: $50 - Reserve Champion: $25 - Grand Champion: $100
‍
The Top 10 photographs in each category will be printed, matted, and displayed at the 70th Anniversary Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show. The Grand Champion photo will also be printed on canvas. All prints and prize monies will be mailed to winners within 60 days of the show’s conclusion.

Terms and Conditions
‍By submitting a photo, participants grant AHAA permission to use their photos for advertising and promotion without requiring additional written consent. No other entity is authorized to profit from the use of these images or related merchandise without AHAA's approval.

Official Rules
‍

“Arabian Horses Making a Difference in the Community” must depict elements of the Arabian Horse whose history is rich both locally and internationally. Books, Videos, the Internet, and various other mediums can be used by the students to gain insight and ideas into the Arabian Horse.

Final Entries

Finished size (with mat) can be no larger than 11”x14” (5”x7” fits an 8”x10” mat, 8.5”x11” fits a9”x12” or 11”x14” mat)
Submitted entries MUST be matted with white mat board.
Each entry MUST have a hole in the upper left and right corners for hanging purposes.
ALL Artwork is due at the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona office by Friday, January 31, 2025.

Medium

A NON-SMUDGE medium is encouraged; tempera paint, watercolor, crayon, magic marker, printmaking, and mixed media are all welcome. We encourage the students to explore style, content and expression.

Art Work Delivery

Please deliver artwork by Friday, January 31, 2025 to the Arabian Horse Association office. Be sure that the Official Entry Form is complete.

Upon delivery of the artwork, you will receive:

- One T-shirt for each Art Contest entrant
- Two free one day passes for the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show for each entrant’s parent to attend and two free tickets to invite family and friends.
- Two free one day passes for art teacher who supported their class involvement
- 10 free tickets for school staff

Expanded Free Admission: We’ve increased the free entry age to 17 and under, so all students can attend at no cost!

Judges
‍
‍The panel is composed of professionals who work in the art field, dignitaries, and representatives in the Arabian horse industry. Judging will take place during the show.

Awards
‍
All students who enter the Art Contest will receive an Art Contest T-Shirt from the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona, please make sure the t-shirt type and size is circled. Winners will be announced, and awards presented with photos on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. Winners in each age division will be awarded as follows: Champion, Reserve Champion and Top Ten winners (10 ribbons per division). Age categories will be as follows:

Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12

Students are asked to wear their Art Contest T-shirts for photos.
